HEI, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2006, was honored for its commitment to energy efficiency. HEI's green efforts focus on the deployment of capital that targets proven technology in lighting upgrades and HVAC systems, among others.

Under the program, Bellstar’s properties will all collect two dollars per night from hotel guests, with the funds used to purchase carbon offsets in support of emission-reducing projects.

The company will be working to reduce its environmental footprint after it joined the international EarthCheck Benchmarking and Certification program for environmental sustainability.
