Westin Hotels & Resorts partners with Amazon.com

In an innovative tie-up, Westin Hotels & Resorts is to launch a digital storefront on Amazon.com for its wellness products.
Through the partnership, Westin Hotels will sell a range of wellness products including merchandise from brands including Gaiam, Tea Forte and Riedel.
The agreement with the e-commerce company is a further step into retail for the Westin brand. In 2000, Westin began sales of its Heavenly Bed. According to the company, to date nearly 40,000 Heavenly Beds, 100,000 pillows, more than 32,000 sheets, and more than 10,000 signature Heavenly spa amenities have been sold.
The Heavenly Bed as well as other Westin products will also be available on the digital storefront, which launches March 1 on www.amazon.com/westin
Brian Povinelli, vice president brand management, North America, for Westin Hotels & Resorts, commented that the collaboration was designed to “drive Westin’s mid-week business while extending the brand’s balanced living platform”.
Other wellness initiatives by Westin Hotels & Resorts include the launch of sleep study and sleep hotline with National Sleep Foundation in 2009, a partnership with SuperFoods Partners to create super foods menu in 2007, and pioneering the smoke-free hospitality experience in 2006.
