Villa Idanna launched east of Bali

By Mick Tan 18 June 2012
Alila Manggis in Bali, Indonesia has launched its latest  addition, Villa Idanna, which is set on a promontory overlooking the landscape of Sidemen Valley with its rice terraces and forested hills leading up the volcano Gunung Agung.

Elevated at 1,000 feet, Villa Idanna lies within the regency of Karangasem, in the village of Sidemen. Sidemen Valley has significance for the Balinese as a pilgrimage route during Besakih ceremonies, containing the highest number of pedandas or Brahman high priests per capita in Bali. With its traditional irrigation system, the area is being considered as a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape, along with the first two proposed model subak systems in Jatiluwih and Tampaksiring.

The property has two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and one kids’ room, all under one roof with al-fresco seating areas and a library. There is no TV to disturb the peace, though wireless modem is provided for data connectivity. The property also has a 20-meter private swimming pool.
