The Venetian among Macau green hotel winners
02 August 2010The Venetian, the Grand View Hotel, the Grand Emperor Hotel, and Pousada Marina Infante were all named winners in the recent Macau green hotel awards.
Organized by the Environment Council with the collaboration of the Macau Government Tourist Office, the awards were set up to recognize the importance of environmental management within the hospitality sector, and honour hotel establishments that have committed to environmental management.
The hotels are judged under three assessment criteria – green leadership and innovation, green programme performance, and partner synergy – with the awards effective for three years.
This year’s ceremony was the second edition of the event, which was launched in 2007.
The awards are divided into two categories: the first covering four and five-star hotels; the second covering two and three-star hotels.
The awards were presented at a cermony in Macau in June.
