Tune takes "pay as you use" concept to Bangkok

By Lachlan Colquhoun 04 July 2012

Tune Hotels will take its "pay as you use" concept to Bangkok in October with the opening of its first hotel in the Thai capital.

The 130 room hotel will be located on main thoroughfare Sukhumvit Road.

Encouraged by the popularity of the "pay as you use" concept at properties in Hat Yai and Pattaya, Tune Hotel Asoke in Bangkok is planned as a landmark achievement as the company strives for recognition in Thailand.

"With Tune Hotels' innovative concept and highly competitive pricing, we are confident of providing visitors to Bangkok with a world class accomodation that offers great value and great savings," said Mark Lankester, group chief executive of Tune Hotels.

Under the "pay as you use" concept, room rates are set according to the optional services added by the guests themselves, amenities such as towels and toiletries, air conditioning, in room Wi-Fi and satellite TV.

Tune Hotels are associated with Asian low cost carrier AirAsia. Tune was founded by AirAsia chief executive Tony Fernandes and his deputy Kamarudin Meranun.
