Carlson Rezidor appoints APAC exec

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Thomas J. Monahan as executive vice president, Development, Asia Pacific. He will be based in the Singapore office and reports to Simon C. Barlow, president for Asia Pacific.

Monahan will lead the Asia Pacific development team in driving strategies to establish Carlson Rezidor's hotel brands in the region. He will oversee a regional team responsible for securing new management contracts and franchise agreements and identifying investment opportunities in the region.

Before joining Carlson Rezidor, v was executive vice president of international development at the Wyndham Hotel Group. Prior to that, he was the senior vice president of acquisitions and development with Starwood in Asia Pacific. He was previously also finance director of Granada/Forte PLC in London and has held various finance positions at InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, based in cities including New York, Jakarta and Hong Kong.
