Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts adds to Indian portfolio
27 December 2010Luxury hotel group Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has signed a management contract with Riverside Infrastructure (India) Pvt. Ltd to operate a hotel under its Traders brand in Chennai.
The 246-key Traders Hotel, Chennai is scheduled to open in early 2012.
"The addition of Traders Hotel, Chennai complements our portfolio of hotels in India -- Shangri-La's Eros Hotel, New Delhi; Shangri-La Hotel, Mumbai, due to open in 2011; and Shangri-La Hotel, Bangalore, scheduled to open in early 2012," said Greg Dogan, Shangri-La's president and CEO. "Traders caters to today's business and leisure traveller, who is looking for simple, efficient, down to earth functionality presented with a smile."
Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently owns and/or manages 69 hotels under the Shangri-La and Traders brands, with a room inventory of over 30,000.
