Thailand based hotel management company ONYX Hospitality Group has been appointed by Methodist Centre Limited (MCL) to manage the Wesley in the Admiralty district of Hong Kong.

The 250-room property will undergo an extensive refurbishment programme before being relaunched under the company’s new OZO brand as OZO at the Wesley, Hong Kong, in late 2012.

Onxy announced in early 2010 the launch of OZO, intended as a select service brand, as well as the launch of another brand Saffron. Its first Saffron property is set to open in Bangkok later this year.

The company has four brands in total with the other two being its original brand Amari and serviced apartments brand Shama, which it acquired in October 2010.

“We are truly delighted to have this unparalleled opportunity to debut the OZO brand in such a prime location in one of the world’s most vibrant cities,” said Peter Henley, Chief Executive Officer of ONYX Hospitality Group.

“We believe that the property has enormous promise and ONYX’s North Asia office here in Hong Kong offers experienced management with knowledgeable local expertise, ensuring that OZO at the Wesley will meet its full potential,” he added.
