New hotel app enables group booking of trip

By HMA Staff 08 June 2011

Columbus Internet and Hotels.com have announced the Hong Kong launch of their new Facebook app, 'Hotels WithMe'.

The app enables friends, families and colleagues to get together through Facebook and collectively choose and book a hotel, ensuring that everyone is happy with the choice. The innovation means the group can choose a hotel together without all sitting down in front of the same computer.

Members of the group can perform a hotel search and show all the results to other members who can pick any hotel they like and add them to a shortlist of potential hotels which everyone can vote on. All the members can discuss the hotels they’re looking at by using the integrated chat.

“Hotels WithMe is perfectly adapted for the social-media generation, letting travellers plan trips together,” said Andrew Sittermann, CEO at Columbus Internet. “We are very proud to be working with Hotels.com to provide the first application on the web which lets people research and book hotels together in real-time.”

Jessica Chuang, Senior Marketing Manager at Hotels.com Greater China, added, “The new app will make the process of choosing and booking the perfect hotel for groups of family, friends, and colleagues simple and straightforward, and most importantly a truly collaborative experience. We are pleased to work with Columbus Internet in Hong Kong so travellers can access our outstanding hotel offers, deals and the location of the deals through this app.”
