New Director of Rooms at Ho Chi Minh's Caravelle

By Lachlan Colquhoun 18 July 2012

The historic Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City has a new Director of Rooms with the appointment this week of Bryce Seator.

Seator arrives in Vietnam after a six year stint at Australia's most-awarded five start resort, Hayman Island, where he held various positions before becoming Acting Director of Rooms.

Prior to Hayman Island, Seator held front office and food and beverage operations at heritage listed hotels the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth and the Duxton Hotel Melbourne.

Educated in Hotel Management at the International Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (IHTTI) in Lucerne, Switzerland, and at the Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS) in New Zeaand, Seator takes over at the Caravelle from Linton Borthwick.

The 335 room Caravelle in downtown Ho Chi Minh City is one of Vietnam's leading five star properties, and is well known as a journalists haven during the Vietnam War. More recently, the hotel - which was opened in 1959 - has positioned itself as one of Vietnam's leading environment friendly properties.
