Mandarin Orchard Singapore named ‘best hotel’

Mandarin Orchard Singapore, the flagship hotel of Asian hospitality group Meritus Hotels & Resorts, has emerged the overall winner in the Best Hotel category for Singapore at the International Hotel Awards (Asia Pacific) 2012-2013.

The awards are operated by the organization that has run the International Property Awards for the last 18 years, with the aim of seeking out the best hotels from each country including those that have been purpose-built for conventions, spa, airports or resorts. Other categories cover hotel sustainability, architecture, interior design, marketing and website.

Later this year, top-scoring winners from the Asia Pacific Hotel Awards will compete against other winning companies from Europe, Africa, the Americas and Arabia to find the World's Best in each category.

Meritus Hotels & Resorts is the hospitality division of Singapore Exchange-listed Overseas Union Enterprise Limited (OUE). Its current portfolio includes the flagship Mandarin Orchard Singapore, Marina Mandarin Singapore, Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi, Meritus Mandarin Haikou, and Meritus Shantou China.
