Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of I Gede Sujana as director of food and beverage for newest Luxury Collection Hotel, The Keraton at The Plaza in Jakarta.

Following his education in Singapore with a major in food and beverage Management, Sujana worked as F&B supervisor and assistant restaurant manager with a couple of five-star resorts in Bintan, Indonesia. He then moved to Brunei Darussalem, where he spent six years with a luxury property. Since returning to Indonesia in 2007, Sujana has spent most of his time working in Jakarta and the most recent two years in the W Retreat and Spa, Bali.

Inspired by the Javanese word for “palace”, The Keraton at The Plaza is a luxury hotel offering a modern interpretation of the Indonesian culture. Rising from the eighth to the 22nd floors of the Keraton building, The Keraton is located in the heart of Jakarta on Jalan Thamrin.

The Keraton at The Plaza offers 140 guest rooms and suites, including four Keraton suites more than 135 square meter each. Ranging in size from 61 square meters to 140 square meters, each guest room and suite offers an open floor design with views of downtown Jakarta through floor-to-ceiling windows. With interior design by SCDA Singapore and the Burega Farnell, the décor of The Keraton at The Plaza is inspired by Indonesia’s geography and culture, with splashes of color, rich woods, and intricate Batik floral patterns. Artworks displayed throughout the hotel are commissioned to Hadiprana, a famous Indonesian interior designer.
