Kempinski looks to double number of hotels in China

Luxury hotel group Kempinski Hotels is planning to rapidly grow the number of hotels it has under management in China and launch a China-specific new brand, according to a local press report.

The German company plans to add 12 new hotels to its property portfolio in China over the next three years, according to a report by China Daily citing the company’s president and CEO Reto Wittwer.
 
According to its website, the firm has 10 hotel properties under operation in China at present in locations including Beijing, Chengdu, Dalian, Sanya, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Wuxi, and Xi’an.
 
The company is also planning launch a five-star hotel brand exclusive to the Chinese market which will be called Nuo, according to the China Daily report.
