The JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong has installed a video conferencing system supplied by networking system supplier Cisco in partnership with telecom provider AT&T.

The company claims the hotel is the first in Hong Kong to install the public telepresence facility which is called Go There Virtual Meetings studio.

“Marriott continues to lead the lodging industry in delivering the latest meeting technology to its customers,” said JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong general manager Mark Conklin. “GoThere Virtual Meetings will offer our clients a new way to hold more productive, collaborative meetings linking locations around the globe within seconds.”

The Cisco Telepresence Studio is located on the 30th floor of the hotel, and can be rented by the hour or in half-day sessions.

Speaking at the recent Hotel Technology conference last month held in Macau, organized by Hotel Management Asia, Benny Lee, managing director, Unified Communications, Cisco Systems, greater China, said there is a huge opportunity for video conferencing facilities in the Asia Pacific region.
