Jumeirah Group names Maldives GM

Dubai-based luxury hospitality company Jumeirah Group has appointed Ernst Mayer as General Manager of the recently-opened Jumeirah Dhevanafushi, Maldives.
Prior to joining Jumeirah, Mayer, an Austrian national, was the owner and proprietor of his own hotel, the Point Hotel Anif in Austria. He was previously the General Manager for Crowne Plaza Salzburg, also in Austria.
He brings 35 years of industry experience to his current position at the first resort for Jumeirah in the Maldives. Ernst had served over 20 years in senior roles for the Intercontinental Hotels Group in China and Hong Kong. His experience also covers F&B operation positions in South Africa. Ernst became Asia’s youngest General Manager at the age of 33 during his tenure at the Holiday Inn Guilin in China.
