Hyatt announces agreement for two Indian hotels

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that Hyatt affiliates have signed management agreements for two new hotels in India, one in Gurgaon and the other in Kochi.

Under the agreements, an Andaz hotel will be opened in Gurgaon, Haryana state, and a Grand Hyatt in Kochi.

Slated to open in the last quarter of 2014, the Andaz Gurgaon will offer 275 guest rooms and 75 serviced apartments, along with a multi cuisine restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a bar. There will also be a spa, fitness center, pool and a ballroom.

The Grand Hyatt Kochi will be located on Bolgatty Island in the state of Kerala and will feature 250 guestrooms.

"Creating a strong presence for our complete brand portfolio in India is critical to Hyatt's leadership in the global hospitality sector," said Ratnesh Verma, senior vice president - real estate and development, Asia Pacific for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts.
