Hilton Worldwide has revealed that the launch of Hilton Huanying, its tailored experience for Chinese travelers, has already proved to be a success.

It reported that since launch of the program last year, the total number of rooms booked at participating hotels by guests based in China rose nearly 30% year-over-year.

Under the Hilton Huanying program, Chinese travellers are offered various familiar comforts in three key touch points of the on-property experience (arrival, guest room and Breakfast at Hilton). These include a front desk team member fluent in Chinese, a selection of Chinese tea available upon request in the guest room, slippers, a dedicated TV channel broadcasting Chinese programming, and a welcome letter written in Chinese. Its breakfast offering includes two varieties of congee.

Hilton Worldwide gave the update on Hilton Huanying as it announced that it opened 170 new hotels with more than 29,400 rooms in 2011 as well as signing management or franchise agreements on more than 320 hotels during the year.

In addition, it claimed that rooms under construction in emerging market under Hilton have grown from 6% in June 2007 to 66%. It said in total it has expanded its portfolio by 29% since June 2007.

Hilton's openings in 2011 in the Asia Pacific region include its first property in northwest China and 20th in total in the country – the Hilton Xi’an.
