Hilton Hotels & Resorts has announced it will open its first property in Guangzhou, China this month. Hilton Guangzhou Tianhe, the first of two Hilton properties to open in Guangzhou, is located close to the city's East Railway Station, and features 504 guest rooms and suites.
"Hilton Guangzhou Tianhe is yet another milestone in Hilton Worldwide's growth strategy for China. The opening of this hotel will expand upscale accommodations in the region and contribute to the local community by providing exciting new employment opportunities for local talent," said Martin Rinck, president, Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide.
"Hilton's portfolio in South China continues to grow from strength to strength with the opening of Hilton Guangzhou Tianhe," added Dave Horton, global head, Hilton Hotel & Resorts. "The location of our first property in Guangzhou was strategically chosen to respond to the demand from an increasing number of domestic and international travellers, for a first-class business hotel conveniently located in the business district and close to the city's transportation hub."
The hotel features 1,900 square meters of flexible meeting and banquet space, including a 600-square meter Grand Ballroom, which has the capacity to cater for seated banquets of up to 400.
Hilton Guangzhou Tianhe is the ninth Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in China, and the hotel is owned by a subsidiary of Talent Property Group Limited.
Earlier this month, Hilton launched its new tailored experience for Chinese travellers. Debuting in San Francisco, the Hilton Huanying program is designed to make Chinese travellers visiting its global properties feel at home and includes a selection of Chinese tea, two types of congee on offer at breakfast, and a welcome letter in Chinese.
