Hilton bullish on Asia-Pacific pipeline

Hilton Worldwide says it has the largest pipeline of new projects in the Asia Pacific and Middle East in the company's history, having secured 43 new signings in the region.

The company says the pipeline spans Australia, Greater China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE. 24 new signings were secured in the first part of 2012.

With those signings, Hilton expects to add another 12,000 rooms to its portfolio across six brands: Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton. 

The opening this year of the DoubleTree by Hilton, Naha in Okinawa, Japan, was the company's 300th property worldwide,
