Hospitality Architecture & Design, a sister publication of Hotel Management Asia, is to hold an awards ceremony to celebrate design excellence.

The inaugural Hospitality Architecture+Design Awards for Design Excellence and Innovation is now open for nominations and will culminate in a gala awards ceremony to be held in December.

The awards include a special category called the HA+D Green Plus Awards in recognition of the best sustainable project and product submissions.

“The HA+D awards will celebrate best practice in design, build and fit-out as well as products and materials," said Tony Smyth, executive editor and publisher of Hospitality Architecture+Design magazine. "Our judging criteria for successful projects are that they demonstrate ‘best’ rather than ‘good’ or ‘average’ design and will be innovative in some or all of the stated criteria."

Smyth adds that projects should provide learning points and have features that will be worthy of replication across the hospitality sector.

The awards will recognize best of class in both projects and products. Categories include project categories for hotel architecture, hotel interior design, and resort.

A panel of industry experts will make an initial selection of winners with a further round of reader’s voting then conducted online.
