Russian mobile applications developer i-Free has launched its Smartive Hotels product, a free hotel search and booking app for Android devices.

i-Free says the app gives access to a database of over 140,000 hotels worldwide, with detailed descriptions, photos, maps and special rates.

Users can search for hotels, sort the results by proximity to desired locations and see distances from the hotel to airports and points of interest. Hotels can be sorted by class, price and filters can be applied with sort the results according to the amenities supplies, such as pools, internet and parking.

Hotel rates are displayed in 20 currencies and English speaking customer care agents are available 24/7 to resolve problems with bookings, the company said. Personal and credit card information is protected by encryption SSL technology.
