F&B: Taj Mahal reopens restaurants
12 January 2010More than a year after the terrorism attacks that rocked Mumbai, the legendary Taj Mahal Palace & Tower hotel has reopened its three impacted restaurants.
The luxury hospitality group announced in December that its Japanese restaurant Wasabi and historical Harbour Bar are now open for business. It reopened its Sichuan restaurant Golden Dragon the previous month.
The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower and the Oberoi Trident hotels were among a number of locations targeted by terrorists as part of a series of attacks on the city in November 2008.
“The opening of Wasabi and Harbour Bar is an important milestone in the resurrection of The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower. We are delighted to reopen its doors for guests, old and new,” Karambir Kang, general manager at The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, commented on the opening evening of the Wasabi and Harbour Bar.
The hotel said the recreation of the Wasabi and the Harbour Bar was led by Spanish architecture and design firm The Rockwell Group, while LTW Design Works, Kuala Lumpur oversaw work on the Golden Dragon.
The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower has 10 restaurants and bars in total.
