Asia features in latest TripAdvisor Industry Index

Hoteliers are increasingly bullish about the prospects for Asia's hotel industry in 2013, according to the latest TripAdvisor Industry Index.

The survey, built on responses from 25,000 hoteliers around the world, nominated Indonesia as the country with the most positive outlook, with India the other Asian market in the top five, coming in fifth position. One fifth of the respondents were in the Asia Pacific region. 

The most negative outlook was for NZ, France, Spain,Italy and Greece.

According to the survey the greatest percentage of Thai (31 percent) and Indonesian (30 percent) hoteliers plan to increase the number of employees with hoteliers in Japan (20 percent), NZ (9 percent) and Australia (8 percent) much less bullish in tone.

The business outlook for accommodation in the Asia Pacific had also improved slightly on the last index, with 50 percent of respondents expecting the market to improve, against 48 percent in the last index in December 2011.
