Amadeus sells off hotel PMS business
29 September 2010Technology firm Amadeus has sold off its hotel property management system division to business software solution provider SoftBrands.
The transaction, the value of which was not disclosed, makes SoftBrands, an affiliate of Infor, the second largest provider of hospitality software worldwide, the company claims.
"The strength of Amadeus Property Management Systems presence in EMEA and reach into other markets significantly enhances our ability to support global customers, and perfectly complements our existing footprint, allowing us to deliver our portfolio of solutions to the worldwide hospitality market,” said Tracy Flynn, general manager, Hospitality, Infor.
On behalf of Amadeus, Claude Giafferri, vice president, Global Customers IT Solutions, commented: “Amadeus’ divestment of the Hotel PMS business, which focuses on the small and independent hotels, will enable the company to concentrate efforts on delivering an integrated Hotel IT platform targeted to large and mid-sized hotel chains, the Amadeus Hotel Platform.”
